ABOUT THE WINNER: The Brič estate is located in Slovenian Istria, right next to the Slovenian-Croatian border above the Dragonja landscape park. The estate is named after the hill of the same name and the nearby village. The building has the capacity to process 500,000 liters of wine. There are as many as 36 hectares of vineyards on the property, which are cultivated in an ecological way. They say that the unique stamp that their wines bear is due to the very special altitude, 270 - 350 m. Wines at this altitude are grown low enough to retain the characteristics of the Mediterranean, but at the same time high enough to have the characteristics of the continent. Due to the location of the vineyard, the grapes need less than half an hour from the vine to the mill. As a result, all the aromas that would otherwise be lost during transport are preserved. Organic production and strict quality control are the main principles of the Brič winery.
