Sparkling wine
Sparkling wine is any wine that contains carbon dioxide (CO₂), which gives it its characteristic bubbles. These are produced naturally (during fermentation) or are added artificially. The bubbles give the wine a refreshing and lively feel, making it very popular with celebrations, aperitifs and light meals. Well-known styles of sparkling wine include champagne, prosecco, cava, crémant, penina, Asti or Moscato d’Asti, and Frizzante.
