Crafted with masterful technique and served with respect for Japanese omotenashi, Suntory whiskies are among the most awarded and admired in the world.
Yamazaki is the pioneer of Japanese single malt whisky, born in Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. Yamazaki Distillery, founded in 1923 by Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii, is the birthplace of Japanese whisky. Nestled proudly on the outskirts of Kyoto, in the region formerly known as "Minaseno", Yamazaki is renowned for its soft water. This unparalleled quality, combined with Yamazaki's unique misty climate with varying temperatures and humidity, provides ideal conditions for whisky production. Here, artisans continue the legacy of their founder through the art of “Tsukuriwaka” – diversity in craft. The diverse fermentation, distillation and maturation techniques create the blending possibilities that are essential to achieving the signature subtle, refined and complex flavours that Yamazaki Japanese single malt whisky represents.
Deep and multifaceted, Yamazaki is considered the authority on Japanese single malt whisky from the award-winning house of Suntory Whisky. Golden in colour; aromas of strawberry, cherry, Mizunara (Japanese oak). Flavours of raspberry, white peach, hints of coconut, and a sweet vanilla and clean finish with a hint of cinnamon.
