ABOUT THE WINNER: The winemaking tradition of the Jakončič family farm dates back to 1847. Quality grape and wine production at the Jakončič farm is of primary importance. Only such a method of production in combination with specific vineyard sites can be the basis for the production of extractive, mineral-rich and structured wines. The wines are divided into two lines, Jakončič and Carolina. The former is dominated by fresh varietal wines from younger vineyards, while the latter contains several types based on grapes from older vineyards.
