Tamdhu Sherry Oak Casks, Quercus Alba Distinction Limited edition 02. Tamdhu matured in American Oak has a wonderfully distinctive profile – it's noticeably different from their European oak maturations. Quercus Alba has a tight grain, ideal for crafting quality casks. The oloroso sherry then modifiesand seasons the toasted oak before the cask's long journey to Tamdhu, where their new-make spirit is filled. Over time, the combination of cask and spirit imparts vanilla and rich fruit flavours, along with a wonderfully natural amber colour.
Smell: The welcoming warmth of malt, vanilla and spiced oak, then orange and mint. Palate: Soft oak, damsons, dark chocolate – and a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. Finish: almost endless sherried oak, giving way to figs and golden syrup.
