Tomintoul Speyside Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whisky Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finish. This small batch bottling of Tomintoul has been created by specially selecting Tomintoul aged in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak barrels which are then married and finished in hand selected Pedro Ximenez sherry butts from Andalucia, Spain. This process of "finishing" creates a beautifully rich, complex and full-flavoured single malt. Aromas of sweet treacle and dried figs mingled with malt loaf, raisins and baking spices. Layers of fruit cake and banaan bread followed by marzipan stuffed dates, toasted walnuts and sultanas with hints of clove and cinnamon. Notes of Danish pastries, cocoa powder syrup sponge cake fading to a warming oak and tobacco linger.
