Wine Fornazarič Leopold 2023
Origin: Slovenia
GRAPE VARIETY: 40% Malvasia, 30% Sauvignonasse, 30% Rebula
Characteristics: It is light yellow in color with delicate yellow-green hues. The bouquet is youthful, attractive and medium-strong, with beautifully expressed floral-fruity aromas that intertwine with herbal notes. We detect ripe apples, pears, a hint of herbs and a subtle lemony freshness. The taste is dry, lively and full, with a medium body and a fairly high level of acids that pleasantly invigorate the mouthfeel. There are also yeasty notes and a slight hint of butteriness, which adds an additional layer of complexity to the wine. It is an exceptionally harmonious and modern cuvée with character. Food pairing: barbecue, fish, salad.
Vinification: fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then 4 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
WINEMAKER DESCRIPTION: The Fornazarič estate from the Vipava Valley has a very long history. The hilly slopes have always been planted with fruit trees and vines. The farm has expanded over the years, changed the scope of individual activities and abandoned some. They have managed to survive over time and preserve some of the original methods of production in harmony with nature. The favorable location, climate and production method have enabled the development and expansion of viticulture on all nearby slopes and thus also the production of quality wine.
