Ferjančič Cabernet Sauvignon wine,
Origin: Slovenia
Variety: dry, hand-picked.
CHARACTERISTICS: The deep purple hues of the wine indicate its richness, and on the nose we detect a flower of forest fruits and wood. It is quite tannic, with slightly higher acidity, but this is balanced by the full body and intensity of the flavors. The wine is aged for a short time in oak barrels, which rounds out and prolongs its taste and gives it a more complex and nuanced character.Violet shades, we smell forest fruits and wood. Fairly tannic with slightly higher acidity. The flavor is rounded off and extended by the short aging in oak barrels. Fits Beef burger, lamb.
ABOUT THE WINNER: The Ferjančič family from Planina nad Ajdovščino, where they have been engaged in viticulture and winemaking since 1809. On the Vipava hills, where the valley separates from the Karst, the conditions are extreme, but right for the vines. The marly soil, which gives the wines minerality, the Vipava burja, which contributes freshness and the Mediterranean sun, represent the terroir of the Vipava valley. In these conditions, they cannot have much, but it can be good and this is their first principle.
