CHARACTERISTICS: Its deeper golden-yellow color and aromas of ripe fruit, apricot, peach, Mediterranean herbs and hay on the nose make it a real sensory experience. On the palate, the wine is balanced and refined, with a strong body and a very mature taste. Its unique flavor profile is the result of the region's exceptional terroir, which includes a mixture of limestone, sandstone and clay soils and the specific microclimate of the Vipava Valley. The versatility of the wine allows it to be combined with a variety of dishes, from seafood and fish to poultry and pasta. Variety: dry, hand-picked.

ABOUT THE WINNER: The Ferjančič family from Planina nad Ajdovščino, where they have been engaged in viticulture and winemaking since 1809. On the Vipava hills, where the valley separates from the Karst, the conditions are extreme, but right for the vines. The marly soil, which gives the wines minerality, the Vipava burja, which contributes freshness and the Mediterranean sun, represent the terroir of the Vipava valley. In these conditions, they cannot have much, but it can be good and this is their first principle.
