VARIETY OF GRAPES: 100% Merlot

CHARACTERISTICS: Guštin's merlot Klasik 2018 with an enhanced aroma, fruitiness combined with freshness and a distinctive character. The grapes are harvested only when the stalks have also ripened. It is ground and macerated for 5 to 6 days in the cellar. The wine maturation process takes place for one year in stainless steel containers. The wine is blended on its own fine lees for one year and minimal addition of sulphur. This gives the wine the taste of matured wine. Then the wine is decanted and fine lees are removed. After bottling, it is kept in the cellar for at least one year before being sold.

ABOUT THE WINNER: Guština's wines are the harmony of the sunny location of the Biljen hills and the fresh air from the hinterland of the Trnov Forest. It is like the song of the gleaners picking the golden clusters. When the excellent Guštin wines shine in the glass after the careful and patient work of the cellarmen, all the efforts of the Guštin Winery are rewarded.
