Wine Modri Pinot 2020
Origin: Slovenia
Vintage: 2020
Sugar: dry
GRAPE VARIETY: Modri Pinot
CHARACTERISTICS: elegant wine of a delicate ruby red color with characteristic garnet hues. Pinot noir with a medium-strong aroma that captivates with fresh red fruit and slight smoky tones. In the mouth, it offers juiciness, dryness and ripe acids that support its full body. The intensity of flavors develops nicely, and the finish brings a fruity, persistent aftertaste. The wine stylistically leans towards the old world, with characteristic finesse and balance. An excellent companion to roasted porcini mushrooms, beef cheeks or a juicy steak.
ABOUT THE WINEMAKER: The Meum wine house vineyards are located on the hills above the Žička Carthusian monastery, which was founded by 12 monks from Grenoble. Founded around 1160, the monastery is one of the oldest in Europe and the first outside of France or Italy. As far as is known, the Carthusian monastery also produced and sold wine, and the Meum family believe that the monks planted two of the most important varieties from France - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Every year they find more and more evidence that these two varieties are really working in their vineyards. The location of the Meum vineyards is something special. Their terroir is truly unique, which is further demonstrated in the demanding vintages when the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay survive and produce excellent and healthy grapes.
