CHARACTERISTICS: Hartwood Chardonnay. Hawke's Bay 2022. The aroma is clean and intense with notes of peach, sweet citrus, nutty complexity and lifted vanilla. Complex and tempting. These aromas flow into a palate that is weighty, rich and clean with defined varietal expression, barrel fermentation complexity and a lingering citrus finish. French oak and fruit are beautifully balanced. Handpicked whole bunch, pressed. This wine is 100% barrel fermented in new and seasoned French oak barrels grown from 150 year old Quercus robur trees. The meeting of two "terroirs", the mighty oaks of central France and the best chardonnay vineyards of Hawke's Bay.
